07 / 30 · Personal commissions
A character sketch of one person, written as literature rather than tribute.
Most tributes make people sound better and less alive. I am interested in the opposite. Give me one person in all their contradictions: the habit everyone mocks, the generosity they hide, the temper, the tenderness, the way they occupy a chair or mispronounce one word.
I will write them as a literary character, with texture rather than applause. The result is not a testimonial. It is a portrait made of observation, memory and the dangerous little details from which a real person becomes unforgettable.
How we work
- You reach out. Share the photograph, the person, the situation or the fragment - as much or as little as you can bear to. There is no correct brief.
- We agree the scope. Before anything is written, we settle what the piece is, its length and its intention. The commission is confirmed with a 50% advance.
- I write. The work is made for you alone, delivered within 10–14 working days. One considered revision is included so the words land exactly where they should.
Scope & confidentiality
Every commission begins with an agreed scope - what will be written, its length, its tone and its purpose - so there are no surprises on either side. Nothing is begun before that scope and the advance are settled together.
What you share stays private. Your story, your materials and the finished writing are treated as yours alone and are never published, resold or used elsewhere without your explicit, written consent. Where a commission is anonymous by design, that anonymity is protected without exception.
