The terms of entering the room.
Rules for visitors, readers, members and anyone using the public archive or website features.
Using the site
These terms govern access to rdcunsaid.com and its public and member features.
1. Acceptance and scope
By visiting, searching, creating an account, reacting to writing, submitting material or contacting RDC Unsaid through this website, you agree to these Website Terms and the policies that apply to the feature you use.
Member submissions are additionally governed by the Submission Terms and Community Standards. Paid writing projects are additionally governed by the Commission Terms, the accepted quotation and any rights schedule.
If you do not agree, do not create an account, publish writing or place an order.
Your access, your responsibility
A screen name may be literary; account security still needs to be practical.
2. Membership accounts
- Account information must be accurate enough for security, recovery and necessary communication.
- You are responsible for activity carried out through your account and for keeping your password confidential.
- Do not share login credentials, impersonate another person, create accounts to evade restrictions or use automated account creation.
- Tell RDC Unsaid promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
- RDC Unsaid may suspend or close an account to protect users, investigate misuse, comply with law, or enforce these terms.
A public writing name does not need to be a legal name. Email addresses and private profile information are not displayed publicly unless you choose to publish them inside your writing.
The archive is readable, not ownerless
Public access does not transfer copyright or grant unlimited reuse.
3. Copyright in the website and archive
Unless a contributor byline says otherwise, the website design, original RDC Unsaid writing, branding, selection, arrangement, graphics and supporting material are owned by or licensed to RDC Unsaid.
You may read, link to and share the official page URL. You may quote a short excerpt for commentary, review or ordinary social sharing with clear attribution and a link, where lawful. You may not, without permission:
- Republish complete poems, stories, collections or substantial extracts;
- Sell, license, scrape, harvest, mirror or compile the archive;
- Remove authorship, copyright or source information;
- Use writing or site content to train, fine-tune, evaluate or populate an artificial-intelligence system or dataset;
- Use the website or its writing in merchandise, advertising, films, music, books, apps or commercial products.
Rights in contributor writing remain with the contributor, subject to the limited licence described in the Submission Terms.
Do not turn the reading room into a loading dock
The website may be used only through ordinary, lawful human interaction.
4. Prohibited conduct
- Do not interfere with security, sessions, rate limits, APIs, databases or site availability.
- Do not upload malicious code, attempt unauthorised access, probe vulnerabilities or overwhelm the service.
- Do not scrape or systematically extract content, contributor data or contact details.
- Do not use the site for harassment, threats, fraud, impersonation, spam or unlawful surveillance.
- Do not submit content that violates the Community Standards or another person's copyright, privacy, confidentiality, publicity or other rights.
- Do not misrepresent an RDC Unsaid quotation, endorsement, partnership or authorship relationship.
Reasonable indexing by ordinary search engines is permitted where it follows the site's technical instructions.
A website can be careful without pretending to be immortal
Features may change, pause or fail. Public writing may be moderated or removed.
5. Availability, links and information
The website is provided on an as-available basis. RDC Unsaid may change layouts, collections, membership features, pricing information or technical services without guaranteeing uninterrupted access.
External links are provided for convenience. RDC Unsaid does not control or endorse third-party sites merely by linking to them.
Literary writing may contain subjective, fictional, emotional or personal expression. It is not professional medical, legal, financial, therapeutic or crisis advice.
Fair limits
These terms allocate ordinary website risk without removing mandatory legal rights.
6. Disclaimers and liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, RDC Unsaid does not guarantee that the website will always be error-free, secure, available or suitable for a particular purpose. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Where liability may lawfully be limited, RDC Unsaid is not responsible for indirect, consequential or purely economic loss caused by ordinary use of the free public archive. Separate limits for paid work appear in the Commission Terms and accepted project agreement.
You are responsible for losses, claims or reasonable costs caused by your unlawful use of the site, your breach of these terms, or material you submit without the required rights, to the extent permitted by law.
Suspension and changes
A rulebook must be able to respond when the room changes.
7. Suspension, termination and policy changes
RDC Unsaid may restrict access, remove content or close an account where reasonably necessary for safety, rights protection, legal compliance, repeated infringement, abuse or material breach. Where appropriate, the member will be given a reason and a chance to respond.
Material changes to these terms will be posted with a new effective date. Existing accepted commission agreements remain governed by the version incorporated into that agreement unless the parties agree otherwise.
Resolve before escalating
A written conversation is the first step, not the last remedy.
8. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Before starting formal proceedings, the parties should first send a written notice describing the issue and allow a reasonable opportunity to resolve it. Courts and consumer forums with lawful jurisdiction remain available.
Electronic acceptance and electronic records may be used to evidence agreement. For paid commissions, the legal contracting party and billing details appear in the accepted quotation or invoice.
