Your memories, conversations and fragments, shaped into a life story you can hand to someone.
A life does not arrive as chapters. It arrives as repeated anecdotes, missing years, family versions that disagree and details remembered only while making tea. I take those fragments seriously.
Through conversations and the material you bring, I shape them into a coherent literary life story with movement, voice and emotional truth. Not a ceremonial biography and not a list of milestones. Something another person can sit with, read slowly and understand more than what happened. They can understand what it was like to be you while it happened.
How we work
- You reach out. Share the photograph, the person, the situation or the fragment - as much or as little as you can bear to. There is no correct brief.
- We agree the scope. Before anything is written, we settle what the piece is, its length and its intention. The commission is confirmed with a 50% advance.
- I write. The work is made for you alone, delivered within 4–6 weeks after final interview / material receipt. One considered revision is included so the words land exactly where they should.
Scope & confidentiality
Every commission begins with an agreed scope - what will be written, its length, its tone and its purpose - so there are no surprises on either side. Nothing is begun before that scope and the advance are settled together.
What you share stays private. Your story, your materials and the finished writing are treated as yours alone and are never published, resold or used elsewhere without your explicit, written consent. Where a commission is anonymous by design, that anonymity is protected without exception.
